Refrigerator Settings

Today I learned that the bottom drawer in my refrigerator is designed to store both meat and vegetables. It has a little gauge that allows you to indicate what you are storing in there. I keep vegetables in there, but had it set on the meat setting. That made my vegetables freeze. I changed the setting and now they are not freezing.

I never really thought those settings did anything.

I learned that from my husband.

NC Trivia

Today, while reading a NC tour book, that Mount Mitchell is America's highest mountain east of the Mississippi River - if you don't count island summits. It is a part of the Appalachain Mountain chain and is near Burnsville, NC in Yancey County. It is 6,684 feet high.

I also learned that Boone, NC is named after Daniel Boone - don't know why I didn't put two and two together on my own for that one.

I'm No IT Expert

Today I learned how to set the security key on my wireless router. I learned that from my very nice neighbor, Tom Keefer. Good thing I've been in the IT industry for 16 years now.

Something new about insomnia

Incessant insomnia is my frequent enemy.

Today I learned that spending a half hour in the sun (with the proper skin protection) may help to improve my sleep. I tried it today - let's see what happens.

I read it in a posting on the NY Times: http://health.nytimes.com/health/guides/disease/primary-insomnia/treatment.html?ex=1238904000&en=425031db82bfad4f&ei=5087&WT.mc_id=HL-D-I-NYT-MOD-MOD-M064-ROS-1008-L1&WT.mc_ev=click&mkt=HL-D-I-NYT-MOD-MOD-M064-ROS-1008-L1

Running

Today - well, yesterday really, I learned that my youngest daughter likes to run in races. Maybe that's where I should direct her energy!

I learned that one on my own.

Coaching Soccer

Today I learned that coaching a group of 7 to 8 year old soccer players during their sixth game with no goals might be the most frustrating experience of my life.

I learned that one on my own.
